WOWZA! Our White Elephant stall was such a huge success today! Well done to all the 3/4 students for their super sales work, as well as their fantastic display of all the products. A massive thank you to everyone who donated unwanted treasures as well as all our lucky customers who picked up a bargain or two (or more!).

HANGING MOSS BALLS
We are very excited to announce that the 3/4 Community will be hosting a ‘Hanging Moss Ball Workshop’ and we would love for you to help us in this experience. We will be making Moss Balls as a celebration of our Inquiry unit, focused on Sustainability.
The plants and all of the materials needed for this activity will be provided by the class teachers, they will of course also be there to run the workshops. Students will be able to take their own Moss Ball home which will last a lifetime, if watered and cared for properly. The 3/4 teachers thought this would be an appropriate end of year present for us as for they have been teaching us about the issue of over consumption in our western world.
We look forward to seeing you there and if not we look forward to bringing home the end product!

3/4C Debate!
Today members of 3/4C participated in a class debate! Groups worked together to create well informed and very persuasive arguments on the topic of Wind Farms.
Students for wind farms argued how sustainable and environmentally friendly they are when creating electricity. Sean's group also said that they make a hill look pretty jazzy!
The against side argued that wind turbines can be destructive to migrating birds who could fly into them! Maia used lots of emotive language and we were all convinced. Then Michael's group finished off by giving us lots of facts about more sustainable ways to create energy like geothermal power.
In the end most people agreed that the negative side were more convincing. Well done to all!

WHITE ELEPHANT STORE- PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!
Time: 1:15pm- 2pm
Location: 3/4 Community
As a response to our Inquiry unit on Sustainability,
the 3/4 Community will be hosting a White Elephant Stall to promote the reuse of products and reducing the over consumption of goods.
All proceeds raised will be donated to the Lotus Fund Charity, which will be used to support educating underprivileged girls in Laos.
A White Elephant Stall is where people bring in their unwanted items such as books, toys or accessories to be sold in one place.
We are asking students from all grades at CCK to participate in donating unwanted items to sell at the lunchtime stall, which all will be able to attend.
You can begin dropping items off to the 3/4 Community each day from now until the day of this event.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
“one Person’s Junk is Another Person’s Treasure”.
Oh Emmanuel, God is with us now!
As part of our unit, Oh Emmanuel-God is with us now! the 3/4 Community have constructed an Advent calendar filled with goodwill actions which students have designed and will perform e.g. helping a peer with a task, giving someone a compliment, helping parents prepare a meal at home etc.
This initiative is designed to remind us to GIVE MORE rather than HAVE MORE during the time of Advent.
Goodwill actions are revealed during morning prayer each day.
Parents, grandparents and siblings are always welcomed within this sacred time in the 3/4 Community.
We hope that the season of Advent reminds you that God is really with us now and to remember the true meaning of this Holy celebration.
