Fun day out at Mount Saint Josephs!

Today the Year 4 girls were lucky enough to attend a college visit at Mount Saint Josephs. The girls were provided with the opportunity to do a range of fun activities, including PE, Science, Language and Mathematics. Maia in 3/4C received an Energetic Award for her dancing during the Just Dance session.

Our group's tour guides were ex CCK students Kim and Nyan. It was so lovely to see them again.

The girls also got the chance to make their own beautiful carnival masks which you can see in the picture below.

We had a fantastic time and are already so excited about attending high school!

Forgiveness and Healing

Today in Religion we started our new unit, Forgiveness and Healing.

Forgiveness is one of the great characteristics of the Christian faith. God forgives us all our sins and faults, but we too are required to be forgiving people. In fact the words of the Lord’s Prayer, which Jesus Christ himself taught his disciples, asks God to ‘forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us’.

We learnt that forgiveness of each other, as God forgives us, restores the bonds of love and friendship.

The following picture storybook, Pumpkin soup highlights the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation. You might like to watch and discuss this story with someone in your family.

Olympic Fever!

Today the 3/4 Community were lucky enough to visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground! There we had a private meet and greet with Olympian Jayne Robinson. Having competed in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympics, Jayne was able to provide many great insights into the life and schedule of Olympic Athletes.

We also have the opportunity to tour the M.C.G. Sporting Museum and explore the inner workings of the M.C.G. itself! Students were fascinated with the range of different facilities the M.C.G. provides, such as the change rooms, commentary boxes and the infamous Long Room!

At the sporting museum, viewing memorabilia such as Ian Thorpe's big shoe size and the Olympic Wall of Fame.

What was the most memorable part of the experience?
